Our wall sconces are designed to be mounted on a vertical surface. They are made to be hard wired to a standard electrical box, and include all mounting hardware. Vision Metalworks wall sconces come in two pieces. The backing plate, which is small and easy to handle, is first connected to the wires, then secured to the wall. Then the sconce body is attached to the backing plate. This patented design makes the installation process simple.

The following dimensions are from the center of the electrical box, to the top and bottom of the sconce body when the fixture is mounted to the wall:

Models 101 & 101W: From center of electrical box to top of sconce body is 2.75", and to the bottom of the sconce is 9"

Models 102 &102W: From center of electrical box to top of sconce body is 4.5", and to the bottom of the sconce is 11.25"

During new construction, if possible, electrical boxes should be mounted 6 to 7 feet above the floor or ground with the center of the box at least 6" from the edge of any window or door trim.
